Coastal Craft

Celebrating Craftsmen
Of The Pacific Northwest

Originally started as an idea to utilize the already rented tent during the final day of the contest, Coastal Craft has proven to be a standalone event in itself. The most unique surf event in the PNW, Coastal Craft brings together an eclectic blend of surfboard shapers and manufacturers to celebrate the time honored tradition of handcrafted surfboards.

2023 Coastal Craft & Silent Auction

After running a virtual event for the last three years, Coastal Craft returns to its original intent – live shaping. Thanks to Matthew Weaver at Fiberglass Supply, a mobile shaping bay will return CKLC on Saturday and Sunday. Fiberglass Supply also donates the US Blanks for our shapers.

This year’s Coastal Craft includes a talented cross section of Pacific Northwest shapers. Brian Anderson of Brand Surfboards will shape a fish. Chris Bauer of Bauer Surfboards will be shaping a log. Al Ciske of NME Shapes will shape a hybrid shortboard. Jared Matchniff of Niff Surfboards will shape a mid-length. Dan Murdey will be shaping his popular “Lil Buddy” longboard, and Taylor Pace will shape a channel bottom twin-pin. For the 5th year running, El Brado Fiberglass will generously craft a basic glass job for each board. Interested surfers can bid on boards through our online auction beginning September 14th and ending on Finals day (September 17th). All proceeds from the auction benefit the Pacific City Skatepark.
